Is your Doctor Pro-Choice?
Women should begin seeing a women's health care provider or gynecologist once they become sexually active. Here is a list of questions every women should ask their Gynecologist or Women's Health Care provider. General Health: 1) Are you prepared to diagnose and treat a full range of sexually transmitted diseases? (Please note, STD screening is not automatically performed at your annual appointment. If you have concerns or would like to be tested, please let your doctor/health care provider know.) Birth Control: 1) Do you offer your patients a full range of birth control options, including IUDs? 2) Do you prescribe Emergency Contraception upon request? 3) Am I required to come into the office to an EC prescription or can it be phoned into my pharmacy? 4) Do you perform voluntary permanent sterilization? Abortion: 1) Are you pro-choice? 2) Do you provide medical abortions? 3) Do you perform abortions? 4) If not, where do you refer patients for abortion services?
